It sums up Claire’s modesty when she questions her involvement in our project as soon as she hears about its concept. To me, Claire is exactly what this project is all about. A former player striving to develop the game in far-flung corners of the world for little or no pay.

Along with Tamara Taylor, the former English International, they are trying to revive Swedish rugby back to where it once was as a constant force in women’s rugby when they competed in the first three RWCs. With the help of the Sevens program and now with several players playing for clubs in the UK, they have been able to make huge progress.

For Claire, its been an interesting and often frustrating path as a rugby coach. During the RWC2021 she was part of the Coaching Internship Programme with Scotland Rugby and fingers crossed this helps solidify her well-deserved place as a professional rugby coach.
